For 12+ years I’ve been laying garage epoxy floors across the Lake Norman area. I’ve seen every kind of garage — brand-new builds, century-old slabs, and everything in between. I’ve also seen every kind of question, and the same handful come up again and again.
So I’m starting this blog to put those answers in one place. Honest, practical, no sales pitch.
What you’ll find here
- How-to guides — what good prep actually looks like, why the grind matters, what to expect on install day.
- Color guides — how to pick a flake blend that holds up over time, why some colors hide tire marks better than others, and which ones look best at night under garage lights.
- Real-job stories — with photos and the homeowner’s permission. The kind of detail you can’t get from a stock-photo gallery.
- Buyer’s tips — how to compare quotes, what red flags to watch for, and the questions to ask any contractor before they touch your floor.
Why I’m writing this myself
Most contractor blogs are written by marketing companies that have never held a grinder. You can usually tell within two paragraphs. I’d rather just tell you what I know, in my own words, and let the work speak for itself.
If there’s a question you’d like me to cover — whether you’re a customer or you’re just researching — drop me a note. Real questions make better posts than anything I can think up sitting at the keyboard.
What’s next
The first proper post will be on what separates a good prep job from a bad one — the single biggest factor in whether your floor lasts 15 years or starts peeling in 18 months. Look for it next week.
In the meantime, if you’ve got a garage that’s ready, the calculator on the home page will give you a fast ballpark, or you can request a free no-obligation estimate and we’ll come measure.
